Diwali Day

Our topic this term is celebrations. We had a Diwali day yesterday and learnt all about the celebration and why it takes place. First we started the day by reading the story of Rama and Sita. The children loved the monkey king Hanuman but didn't like the demon king Ravana! We took part in different activities including designing henna for our hands, creating Rangoli patterns using rice and pasta and making diva lamps using salt dough. Then we tried a little bit of Bollywood dancing, the children loved wearing a scarf and copying some of the actions.
