Halves and quarters

Year one have been working hard on Fractions in maths. We have been learning about halves and quarters and all the children have really understood it!
The children had to use chocolate spread and cover only half of their biscuit with it and then leave half without. Once they had achieved this they were allowed the eat the biscuit and they all said it was yummy! We also had a go at making pretend pizzas where we had to cover the pizza base with different ingredients such as half cheese and half tomato and we even tried to use quarters. In school this week we will be working on finding half and a quarter of numbers.
