An amazing school trip

As part of our topic 'Help I Need Somebody' we were lucky enough to go on a fabulous school trip. We spent the morning at Shanks Recycling Education Centre where we learnt about the 3s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We also worked hard to sort the rubbish on the conveyor belt and learnt that aluminium isn't magnetic but steel is. Later we went outside and saw the wormery. Three people came to talk to us about their jobs and we asked lots of intelligent questions.
Then we went to the fire station. We had an amazing time learning all about how fire-fighters help us. We had a your around the station and looked at the fire engine and all the equipment. Later we went outside and the fire-fighters did a drill and showed us how they get the ladders out and the different hoses. We all tried out the hoses and then we went on the fire engine. It was a fantastic day.
