Butterflies!

What an amazing start to today! As we came into class this morning we discovered that our butterflies have emerged! There were two butterflies this morning and by dinnertime there were three. We followed the instructions carefully for feeding them and gave them slices of fresh apple and orange. Then we mixed water and sugar to resemble nectar and soaked a paper towel with this. To do this we had to measure carefully and read scales. We mixed 10ml of sugar in 200ml of water. Each day we will have to ensure that the paper towel is moist by using the pipette to add more sugary water. In 2/3 days we will release them.
