Celebrating the Queen's Birthday

Friday 10 Jun 2016 19:04pm

We've had great fun celebrating the Queen's birthday today. We started with a class swap with Year 4 this morning. First we listened to three amazing biographies and learnt lots of facts about Queen Elizabeth. Then Miss Dimmock demonstrated how to sketch and we had to draw the other half of the Queen's face by looking really carefully and sketching it so her face was symmetrical.
After playtime Mrs Sketchley helped us to learn the National Anthem and she played the recorder for us to sing along to.
We went out at lunchtime along with the whole school and enjoyed out lunch, especially the ice-cream and delicious buns. Thank you to all the kitchen staff and Mrs Pratt!
In the afternoon we did some crafts and then went to assembly where we watched a live video link from London of a celebration for the Queen.
What an amazing day it was!
