Marvellous Maths!

Thursday 27 Sep 2018 23:00pm

In Maths, we have been learning about different numbers. We have focussed upon learning the value of each digit and then ten 'ones' (we used to call these units) make a group of ten. Mason said that 42 is worth four tens and two ones (fourty and two) . Or 42 ones.

This is crucial for children in Year Two because they need to understand what numbers are worth before they can use them properly and any extra practice at home is sure to help! Good questions to ask- What is this number? How many tens does it have? How many ones? How much altogether? Which digit is in the tens place? Which is in the ones place?
