Our Spectacular Trip to the Butterfly House

Today Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful trip in the sunshine to Tropical Butterfly House in Sheffield.

In the morning, we arrived excitedly at school and boarded our bus. As soon as we arrived at Tropical Butterfly House we went inside to see the beautiful butterflies. We also saw terrifying tarantulas and a very frightening caiman. It was so still that some us of thought it wasn't real!

After that we went to see the farm animals. There were rabbits, goats, owls, baby chickens and one giant turkey. How smelly they were!

Next we had our first workshop that was all about feathers, fur and scales. We learnt lots about mammals, birds and reptiles. We even met a few! We were introduced to a tortoise, a furry owl and a golden rat.

We really enjoyed having fun in the playground and eating our sandwiches in the party room. We were very hungry after such a busy morning!

In the afternoon we met some minibeasts! We were very brave and held a giant African land snail, a stick insect and a cockroach.
