Our trip to the South Yorkshire Transport Museum
Thursday 05 Mar 2015 18:44pm
We went to the museum to learn about transport from the past as part of our topic this half term.
As soon as we arrive at the museum we saw a model of Percy the tank engine. After that we went on an old fashioned bus and we got to have a ride around Rotherham.
At the transport museum we got to look inside some old fashioned buses. Some of us were given tickets from the olden days by a conductor. The tickets were clipped so that the bus driver knew that they had been used.
We learnt the names of the pieces of transport and we got to pretend to drive a bus!
When we were in the museum we saw a vehicle called the Dukw. This vehicle could drive into the water and drive on land.
We saw some cars, army trucks, double decker buses, trams, milk trucks, bikes and buses without any roofs.
We all really enjoyed our trip to the transport museum and we will be using what we have learnt in our school work.
