Pumpkin Find!
Friday 23 Oct 2015 12:28pm
In Year Two we have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes in maths. Today we went outside to do a shape hunt in the playground and we found a lovely surprise. There were three pumpkins hidden outside. Mrs Thompson decided that we could bring them in and carve them.
We had lots of fun, even though they were rather smelly and slimy. We designed a face using 2D shapes and then we drew them on the pumpkins with marker pens. The adults carefully cut them out. We noticed that our 2D shapes changed into 3D shapes when we cut them out.
Afterwards Mrs Thompson put candles inside and because Lumir's birthday is on the 31st October we sang 'Happy Birthday' and let him blow out the candles.
What a wonderful way to finish the half term.
Have a lovely holiday everyone!
