Waterstones

We were very kindly invited to go to a workshop at Waterstones in Wakefield. Louisa - an ex pupil organised this with us and led the activities when we were there. It was a very soggy day with the snow and we got quite wet walking to the bus but everyone was sensible. We enjoyed the bus ride.
When we arrived Louisa read a section from Roald Dahl's 'The Twits' and then everyone made a beard for Mr Twit. Sarah judged her favourite ones when we finished and two children won 'Wonka' bars. Well done Farwah and Deivids.
Afterwards we had a tour around the bookshop and learnt how they organise the books.
Sam the dog and Mr Ted came with us and had a great time. A gentleman who was shopping in the store asked Miss Dimmock which school we were from and then said: "They are very well behaved!" Well done Year 2.
Another highlight was that everyone was able to choose their free book and pay for it at the counter with their token.
Thank you Waterstones and Louisa for having us and also Mrs Sennett for paying for our bus fares.
We all really enjoyed our visit.
