Zakariya Mosque

Last Tuesday afternoon, we went on an exciting, educational walk to Zakariya Mosque in Agbrigg.
The Imam was waiting for us and showed us the way in.
When we went inside, we had to take off our shoes and put them on the shoe rack.
Then we were shown into the girls' room. The Imam told us we could explore the features of the mosque. We decided to look for all the objects we had learned about in RE such as tasbih beads, a Qur’an and prayer mats. How fantastic it was!
After that, we sensibly walked upstairs and saw the large, green donation box. The Imam told us that the money would be given to the poor people. How kind they are!
He also showed us all the prayer times called The Five Salah.
Lastly, we were shown the boys' room. The Imam gave lots of interesting answers to our questions. He was very kind, funny and he really made us laugh.
What an amazing afternoon it was! (Blog written by Year 2)
