A week of measuring!

This week in Maths, we have been learning about different types of measuring. We started by using tape measures to measure different objects in the classroom to the nearest centimetre. The children measured lots of different objects such as books, chairs, cushions and whiteboards. They then recorded these in a table. On Tuesday we measured each other to see how tall we were. Unfortunately Mr Carver, Mr Dixon and Mrs Swailes were too tall for the tape measures! We used this information to order our friends heights from shortest to tallest.

Later in the week we learnt how to convert centimetres to millimetres, and the other way round. The children all enjoyed the practical activities we did during the week. Next week, we will be looking at weight and capacity. Let's hope we have as much fun when we learn about these!
