Ancient Egyptian Workshop

Tuesday 19 Sep 2017 14:09pm

This morning, we had a special visitor from Wakefield Museum. Her name was Kelly and she came to teach us about Ancient Egypt. We first talked about what we already knew about it. Kelly was very impressed with our knowledge and was happy to hear we were writing about it in English.

We then split into four different groups. Two groups examined real artefacts using gloves (so we didn't damage them) and magnifying glasses (so we could see them better!) Everyone was fascinated to see real artefacts which were 4000 years old! The other two groups designed their own Egyptian God who had the head of an animal and the body of a human. They then had to give their God a name using hieroglyphics. Everyone then swapped round to do the other activities.

Everyone had a fantastic time and behaved like real archaeologists and artists this morning. The Year 3 staff and Kelly were very impressed!
