Angles in Nature
Sunday 15 Jul 2018 09:05am
On Wednesday, we took full advantage of the glorious weather and took our maths lesson outdoors. Our objective was to identify obtuse, acute and right angles in our environment. We began by looking for different angles around us such as bricks, windows and branches in trees. The children found a wide range of places where they could be seen. Next, we collected sticks and twigs and began to make our own angles. To ensure we made a right angle, we used a unifix cube to measure the vertices. Finally, we practised making angles with our bodies, using our hands, arms and legs. Everyone had a great time and now look forward to our next outdoor learning experience.
