Egyptian Death Masks

In art and design technology this half term, the children have been designing and making their own Egyptian death mask with Mrs Skolas and Mrs Swailes. The first stage was to draw an original death mask as used in Ancient Egypt. They then used this to design 3 death masks they would potentially make.

The following week the children began making their own masks, using a blank mask template. Over the past 2 weeks, the children added paper mache to the mask, and then added 2 layers of gold paint to them. This week, the children painted their final masks using blue, black and red paint. The results were amazing and the masks are now being used as part of our topic display. Well done everyone!
