Hepworth Gallery Workshop

Today, Year 3 had the amazing opportunity to visit the Hepworth Gallery to take part in a very special workshop. It was called 'Paper and Music'. We arrived on foot and were led into a huge room overlooking the River Calder. We sat in a circle and discussed sounds we could make that resembled wind, rain and thunder. All of us sat with a ginormous piece of paper and found different sounds we could make with our hands. We were amazed at how many we could find! Roxanne and Mohammed had the chance to be music conductors to create our own piece of music.
As we split into 3 groups, we were given different types of paper and had 5 minutes to create our own musical performance. The ideas which each group invented were truly amazing! Everyone joined in and performed with confidence. Finally, we watched our workshop leaders'
act out a performance just using paper. We were all glued to it!
