Jorvik Centre Visit

Friday 16 Jan 2015 22:29pm

Today we went on a trip to York to visit the Jorvik Viking Centre. We set off straight after register and got there nice and early. Everyone was really excited to go! When we arrived we had a short walk along the River Ouse and past Clifford's Tower.

First we had our visit into the Jorvik Centre. It was fun to see people dressed up a real Vikings. One even had a sword! We imagined what it was like inside a Viking house. Sometimes there were up to 15 people living in one room. Then we went on the ride through the Jorvik Centre. What we saw was amazing. The models of people looked so realistic, and the smells were too!

We walked through York to DIG and ate our lunch. After that we had a look at all the Viking artefacts. They were all really interesting.  There were tools, jewellery and weapons.

All the children were very well behaved and had an excellent day. We will use what we learnt in our lessons, starting next week!
