Meet The Little Rotters!

Today we had a visitor in our class called Jade. She came from Keep Britain Tidy to help us learn about waste and recycling. First, she talked to us about how we recycle our rubbish and what happens to it after we throw it away.

After that we met the worms! We met our wriggly friends as they were put onto a plate in some soil. We were encouraged to look at how they move using a magnifying glass. Then we got half a milk carton per table and began to make a wormery for them to live in. The children added layers of sand and soil to make a perfect home for the worms! We will use these to help us with our compost at school.

The children all learnt valuable lessons about waste and recycling. We will all try and remember how to help our planet.
