Science shadows!

Our science topic this half term is Light and Shadows. On Tuesday we decided to make the most of the glorious sunshine and look at shadows in the playground! We observed different shadows from objects such as the trim trail, the lamp post and the school hall. Then we looked at our own shadows. Some children tried to run away from their shadow, but soon realised they couldn't!

The children then worked with a partner to make a shadow and then draw round it with a piece of chalk. There were some really creative shadows, including a ballerina and Peter Pan! Here are some photographs from our experiment.
