Sugar Cube Igloos

In our art and D.T lesson today, we had the most wonderful lesson! We made our very own igloos using sugar cubes and icing sugar. In topic this week, we leant about Inuit people, and discovered they can build a real igloo in less than 3 hours. I took us much less time than that! Our first job was to make the base to give the igloo it's shape. The cubes were stuck together using icing sugar mixed with water. Slowly and carefully, the rest of the igloo was constructed. Mr Elliott heard about the lesson, and arrived in his winter hat and scarf. He was disappointed to find he could not fit inside our models! By the end of the lesson, everyone had made a wonderful model which all looked amazing. Thank you to Mrs Skolas and Mrs Swailes for teaching the lesson.
