What a busy week!

Thursday 01 Oct 2015 23:00pm

Even though the children have only been at school for four days this week, it has been action packed! On Tuesday we enjoyed our ARLA workshop. It took place in an inflatable classroom in the school car park. We learnt all about cows and how milk goes from them and ends up in milk cartons in our houses. It was very practical and we learnt many interesting facts. Did you know that cows have 4 stomachs? That they drink 130 litres of water a day?

On Wednesday we finished writing our formal letters to Mrs Sennett in English. Over the past 3 weeks, all the children have made excellent progress with their writing. It has been difficult learning about IPEELL, but all the class are now feeling much more confident with it. We have now begun writing an Egyptian adventure story to link to our topic work.

On Thursday in Science we conducted a magnet strength investigation. The children used 4 different magnets and paperclips. They had to predict how many paperclips each magnet would hold in a chain. They then tested and recorded their results. You could ask a child in Year 3 to tell you which magnet was the strongest!

Today was our Eid party. The children brought their party clothes and lots of delicious food for us to eat. We played games, did lots of dancing and generally had a great time! It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves. Thank you to all the parents who sent in food. It was all eaten up!
