A host of characters

What a week in year 4!  On Wednesday, we enjoyed a visit from Louise Edwards from the School Nursing Team.  We talked about healthy lifestyles and demonstrated that we have a great understanding of what it means to live and eat well.  The final part of the session saw us running around as one of the food groups - dairy, protein, carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables and fats and sugars - so we even managed some exercise.  Watch out families.  We know what we're talking about!
On World Book Day, many of us dressed up as characters from stories and we watched and discussed Goodnight Mr Tom as part of our WWII project.  In English next week, we will be moving on to a diary entry from William showing what an awful life he had in London and how much Mr Tom helped him by being a good friend.  Again, as a group of children, we showed an understanding of the world and our role as good citizens.
Then we had a great afternoon working with Captain Thompson's class designing a board game based on the Horrid Henry books.
Our supply teacher, Miss De Ville was immensely impressed.
