Dramatic interventions

This week we have continued to write our stories about Robin Hood and his intrepid adventures. There has been some impressive writing and most of us are using adjectives in a list, adverbs, similes and metaphors regularly in our independent work. Many children have even begun to use fronted adverbials. Some major politicians don't recognise those! Naturally, we would be happy to share our growing knowledge for a small fee.
The next thing to tackle is speech; speech punctuation; new speaker, new line; speech, name, detail; detail, name, speech; and/or split speech so we decided to act some parts of the story to think about the sort of things that the characters might say.
Apparently, an angry rhino guard might query, "Where is that scoundrel, Robin Hood?"
Whilst gorgeous Maid Marion might wonder, "Where is Robin, my hero?"
As for the evil Sir Hiss......"Ssssooo Princccceeee John, he'ssssss tricked you again? SSSSSSS!"
The children really enjoyed themselves. They were asked to be mature, stay in character as far as possible and to give constructive feedback to their friends. You can all be proud of yourselves or of your child. I am one proud teacher.
Here are a few photos.

We have also designed a front cover so that we can display our work. Here is the design stage in action:
