Sandal Magna Community Academy

It's behind us ...and in front of us.....lots of fun planned

Friday 04 Dec 2015 22:27pm

If you are in Year 4 you should be incredibly proud of yourself this week. Many of you have taken a step out of your comfort zone. Some of you are now confidently offering answers in class, even when you are not entirely sure, because you know everyone learns from talking through your answers. Be proud. In September, you'd have simply kept quiet. You know who you are.

In addition, we have individuals learning lines and verses from songs ready for the production. All of you are happy volunteers. Mrs Sketchley has challenged you to rehearse without scripts next week. How many will rise to her challenge? Mums and Dads, you are in for a treat, so pop the date in the diary now.

Then there was the Panto with songs and jokes to tickle us. What a treat! We were a great audience with just the right balance of maturity. This came fast on the heels of a trip to the swimming pool in Normanton when Mrs Pratt said the swimming teacher complimented you all on your best lesson yet.

Your homework this week is to demonstrate what you know and understand after all our maths work on shape, angles and symmetry. Design a flag and make Mrs Sketchley's day. Don't forget to use your spellings in full sentences too. Thank you to everyone who does their homework every week and hands it in by Tuesday morning. Team Year 4 working together!

Don't forget that our trip to Eden Camp is on January 14th. The total cost is £11.75, but you can pay a little each week, if that helps. Please keep slips and payments coming in so that the trip is viable.

Finally, our attendance is still low and we were near the bottom of the pile again this week. Please keep coming to school if you feel tired. It's a long, long term but we need you and every day counts. Thank you to everyone who has been in every day for the last 10 days. Remember the attendance incentive is only a week away now! You will get your reward.

Happy weekend.

See you on Monday.

Mrs Sketchley
