Party Time .....something to digest!

Thursday 09 Jun 2016 23:00pm

Didn't we have a lovely time, the day we celebrated The Queen's 90th birthday.  Like other communities across the UK, The children in Year 4 came dressed in their best party clothes, full of enthusiasm for an off-timetable day.
In the morning, we joined with Year 2 and sketched symmetrical images of the Queen's face using our maths and art skills. There were some super outcomes and they will soon be mounted and on the display walls for all to see.  Thanks to Zeeshaan's coaching, even Mrs Sketchley's efforts looked vaguely like the Queen rather than a snowman!
Afterwards, we learned and practised the National Anthem, then were more than ready for a party lunch.  Fortunately, the weather was kind and we were able to celebrate outside in the warm summer weather.  We managed to consume sandwiches, sausage rolls, pizza, dried fruit, ice cream and a cupcake all washed down with lashings of squash.....

And of course, thanks to our new science topic, we now know what happens to all that delicious food after we have put it in our mouths!

Please remember your PE kits on Monday, so that you are ready to burn off the calories!
Happy weekend Year 4.
