After last week's snow days, the sun shone beautifully for our celebration of reading this week.  Year 4 teamed up with Year 1 and we had a lovely morning reading 'Katie meets the Impressionists' by James Mayhew. 
In this magical story, Katie goes to an art gallery to celebrate her granny's birthday and finds herself lost in some of the paintings in the gallery as she tries to collect some flowers for her gran.  We talked about where we would like to go if we stepped inside a work of art and the answers ranged from outer space to a car show room which just goes to show the fabulous imaginations that we have. 
We split into 2 groups and spent the morning writing postcards home from the places we had stepped into and painting a picture of ourselves and our partners using pointillism just like Van Gogh and Seurat.  We even found some time to escape for a good read around school!  The photos will show you where some of us found ourselves.  We hope you enjoy them.
