Taking WW2 into the kitchen

Thursday 21 Jan 2016 17:05pm

This week, some of the children in the Sapphire family have been cooking with Mrs Clifton.  Given that sugar was strictly rationed in WWII, they thought about food that they could make that would not use those valuable ration book tokens.
Thrifty as ever when challenged, they decided to use the vegetables they have 'grown' in their allotments and back gardens to make a vegetable pasty.  They can feed 6 for less than £1 per person.  You could ask them to do your weekly shop!
Here are the results, though Jaydon's may not have made it home!
