American Day

Mrs Shepherd then gave us some information about why Americans celebrate Independence day and how it came about. After learning lots of interesting facts, we separated into our groups, where we were tasked with re-telling the story of Independence in some way. Some of us made posters, wrote poems or did a drama piece. At 11.30 we went out onto the grass and sat in the shade to watch the year 6's share their work. After lunch, we shared our work with year 6.
In the afternoon we made our own frisbees and decorated them with famous landmarks of America.
We all had a fabulous day and were certainly amazed at what we learnt. Our favourite fact was that Americans will eat 255million hotdogs on Independence Day!
We collaborated incredibly well and Mrs Shepherd, Miss Grindle and Mrs Ward are really proud of our attitude and behaviour and the work we created!
