Art Trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park

On Tuesday, Year 5 and 6 went to Yorkshire Sculpture Park as part of our Art topic this half term. The aim of the trip was to appreciate some of the art work of the local artistBarbara Hepworth, and practice our observational sketching skills by sketching some of Barbara Hepworth's life-sized sculptures.
Miss Benning was very pleased that we had all taken care to consider the texture, shape and tone of the sculptures and accurately recreated these in our own sketches. We have all made good progress in our observational sketching skills over the past few weeks, and are now looking forward to turning our best sketches into clay sculptures.
