Greek Pottery

Tuesday 27 Jun 2017 23:00pm

As part of our Greek topic, we have been creating our own Greek vases from clay. First, we looked at examples of the pottery that has been dug up over time, then had a go at creating our own designs in our art books. After collecting lots of yoghurt drink pots, we were then ready to create our own vases. We moulded the clay around the yoghurt pots then manipulated it to make the desired shape. We then left them overnight to dry. Because we did this on the hottest day of the year so far, the pots cracked and split, but this just added to the ancient look! Then we used thick felt pens to add detail to the vases. We worked really hard on these and they look amazing!
