Sam the Dog visits
Friday 19 Feb 2016 00:00am
Our class had the best attendance for the week beginning the 1st February, so Sam the Dog came to visit our class during the week of the 15th-19th February. Sadly, he was stuck in the office helping Mrs Pratt and didn't come to Year 5 until Wednesday (we think the school disco encouraged him out of the office!
Sam had a very busy time during the few days he was with us. He learnt all about our new banding system for school dinners, however he said it all looked so good that he wanted everything (he even put one of every band on!) then he joined in with Mathletics. He got very confused as he realised that many of the children were not on Mathletics, but on something called Big Maths. It was the first time he had seen it and enjoyed himself very much.
In Year 5, they have been learning about Victorians and Sam found out that Victorian children learnt to sew in school. The children have been sewing and Sam had a go too. He was pretty good! He then joined the class for music and French with Miss Abernethy. Here he is looking up a word in the dictionary and playing with the musical boomwhackers!
He had a great time in Year 5!
