Sam the Dog's Week in Year 5
Thursday 18 Sep 2014 23:00pm
At Sandal Magna Community Academy, we all know that School Attendance Matters, and because Year 5 had such fantastic attendance last week, Sam the Dog came to visit us this week. On Monday afternoon, Sam enjoyed helping us research all about Earth and Space as part of our Topic lesson. Sam enjoyed learning all about the planets and our solar system so much so, that Miss Benning found him with his nose stuck in some more information books the next morning when she came into our classroom.
In Science we are learning about Forces this half term. On Tuesday we learnt that forces are measured in Newtons. Sam had fun with some of the Year 5 pupils measuring the weight of some object using a force meter. On Friday Sam went to help Mrs Placchino and the Sapphire family pupils to make Alien cookies. The delicious smells wafting down the corridors made everyone's mouths water! Sam rang Miss Benning on Friday evening to let her know that he had had an enjoyable week in Year 5. He thought that the new Year 5 class were definitely a great class family, and can't wait to come back and learn even more with us next time!!
