Stars and stripes and more stars!

This week, we have begun our topics on America and our solar system. We have learnt that the USA is split up into 50 different states, each with it's own rules and laws. We have looked at some of the huge buildings that have been built in the cities and how they manage to build these. We have been writing a biography of Barack Obama, the first African American president of the USA. Did you know, his first job was at a Baskin and Robins ice cream shop. Because of this, he no longer likes ice cream!
We have also been learning about our solar system and learning mnemonics to help us remember the order of the planets. For example,
My Mercury
Very Venus
Excellent Earth
Mother Mars
Just Jupiter
Served Saturn
Us Uranus
Nine Neptune
Pizzas Pluto
Scientist have recently decided that Pluto isn't a actually a planet, but we still learnt it's name and kept it in our mnemonic.
