The Haka!

Year 5 had great fun in PE this week. We had another lesson trying to learn how to 'do' the Haka!
The Haka was a type of ancient Māori war dance used on the battlefield , as well as when groups came together in peace. In recent years it has become a traditional dance performed by the New Zealand rugby team, the All Blacks. They use it to try and 'scare' their opponents so that they have a better chance of winning the game.
Next week, Years 5 and 6 are going to have a 'face off' when each class will perform their own versions of the Haka to each other. Who will be the most scary? We'll have to wait and see...
