What a wonderful week

Monday 25 Jan 2016 14:49pm

After our wonderful Victorian day, we continued with the same theme this week. On Monday morning, we started looking at writing a diary as if we were a child in Victorian times. We also continued with sewing lessons! We decided that we would not like to live in Victorian times and are much happier in 2016!

Also this week, we prepared for an athletics tournament at Kettlethorpe High School. In the end, 8 children were chosen from year 5 and 6 and we went on Thursday evening. Every child put in 100% effort and did really well. The final scores were very close, but we didn't win. Mr Smith and Mrs Shepherd were very happy with us though, because we worked together so well.

We had a very exciting time in Science this week when we learnt all about water resistance. We did an experiment where we timed how long it would take a piece of blu tac to fall through the water. We then changed the shape of the water. We found that when the blue tac was round or square, it fell quickly but when it was flat, it took a long time to fall. We had a very fun session and the class got a little wet!
